Competitive Mode
Looking for an experience with an emphasis on user input over ballplayer and team ratings? In Competitive Mode, user stick skills are put to the test and reign supreme above all.
Simulation Mode
Prefer a style that plays truer to a ballclub’s actual makeup or a player’s real-life tools? Simulation Mode provides an authentic MLB experience that balances stick skills with player and team attributes
Casual Mode
And if all you want to do is step up to the plate and rake or take the mound and mow down batters, Casual Mode provides an easier experience with more home runs and an emphasis on learning the game of baseball.
2. Cross-platform
Compete across consoles
For the first time in the history of the franchise, MLB The Show 21 allows for cross platform play, meaning players can compete online across PS5, PS4 and other consoles where MLB The Show 21 is available.
3. Stadium Creator*
Build the next great ballpark from scratch
New to MLB The Show 21 is a long-requested fan feature: Stadium Creator. With over 1,000 unique pieces to choose from, take full control and build the stadium of your dreams, whether recreating a classic ballpark from the past or designing something completely out of the box and bizarre.
Stadium Creator has the tools to adjust almost anything you can imagine: outfield wall height and dimensions, foul pole placement, ballpark backdrops and more. You can take landmarks and architecture to create a picturesque stadium setting or even experiment with other-wordly fantasy elements like placing UFOs in the ballpark sky.

4. Two-way players and player loadouts
Use your ballplayer in more ways than ever before
Show off both your pitching and hitting skills as a dual-threat, two-way ballplayer. Two-way players allow you to take the mound as a pitcher and also hit and play the field like an everyday lineup contributor.
You can now also customize the attributes of your player between games to accomplish specific situational goals with player loadouts:
Prioritize the Contact loadout to better your chances of putting the ball in play to drive in a run.
Go all in on the Power loadout to maximize your potential to hit dingers for days.
Pump up your Speed loadout to run wild on the diamond and steal bases at will against your rival.
Or if the goal is to make your player a well-rounded, five-tool stud like MLB The Show 21 cover star Fernando Tatis Jr., simply balance your loadouts strategically across all categories.
5. New Legends
Stack your roster with an elite group of MLB Legends
Legends rosters are back and feature a new group of Major League icons like Jackie Robinson and Mickey Mantle. Other all-time greats available include Ken Griffey Jr., allowing you to mold your roster with generational talents from throughout baseball history.
6. Revamped Diamond Dynasty
It’s now easier than ever to build your ultimate team in MLB The Show 21’s rethought and simplified Diamond Dynasty, with a more user friendly and approachable interface that both newcomers and veterans of the franchise will enjoy.
Unlock and earn new player cards by competing against others online** or against the computer and progressing in the Featured Program. Cards are updated weekly so there is always something new to earn to stack your ballclub and achieve greatness with stars from the past and present.
